Kozminski Business Hub together with Microsoft, Bank Millennium and TAURON are organising the second edition of the Ecocraft hackathon. Participants in the challenge will enrich the Minecraft game by adding new, pro-ecological elements to its environment. Sounds like something for you?

Are you an adult who likes challenges? Do you know how to program in Java? Assemble your team and take part in a project which is not only intellectually stimulating, but can also impact the future. That’s what Ecocaft is all about! Sign up and create a plugin which will develop your favorite game – Minecraft.
Why it's worth joining
In other Hackatons participants find out innovative ways to support people with disabilities, residents of polluted areas, customers of grocery stores and more. You can engage in a similar challenge. Its aim will be to promote sustainable, proecological actions among Minecraft fans. Thanks to taking part in Ecocraft you can reach out to the vast community of gamers with a proenvironmental message.
OK, but how will it work?
Using a virtual copy of the real world, participants create a Minecraft plugin with an ecology and sustainability theme. They have 24 hours to complete the task. The result of the work should include:
description of the plugin (idea and principle of operation)
plugin configuration files
plugin documentation (instructions for the installation and use of the plugin, possibly video material)
Participants are required to know Java programming language, which is the language on which the game Minecraft: Java Edition is based, as well as plugins created for the current version of the game.
In the meantime, the competitors are entitled to get support from our experts so that their project is as good as it can be. Afterwards, all teams present effects of their work. The best plugin will be awarded and, most importantly, implemented into the game.

Prizes
In the Ecocraft hackathon, prizes will be awarded in two categories:
for creating a plugin during the challenge:
1st place: 5000 PLN
2nd place: 3000 PLN
3rd place: 2000 PLN
for preparing the plugin after the hackaton:
3 equal prizes of 7000 PLN.
The total amount of prizes is over 30 000 PLN.
